About

La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. was founded on February 19, 1982, at Cornell University in an attempt to provide a formal structure for the positive presence and representation of underrepresented groups at universities across the United States.

In Florida, this mission took root at the start of the 21st century, with the establishment of the Gamma Kappa chapter in 2000. What began as a dream between a couple Hermanos became a movement, uniting Hermanos across the state, from Miami to Orlando, and Tampa to Fort Myers. Through the dedication of our five chapters—Gamma Kappa (Miami, FL), Gamma Nu (Orlando, FL), Alpha Rho (Florida International University), Beta Delta (University of South Florida), and Beta Upsilon (Florida Gulf Coast University)—our region continues to foster leaders, scholars, and changemakers committed to making a difference.

Nationally, our Hermanos are located in twelve administrative regions across the United States from coast to coast.

As Iron sharpens Iron, So one Man Sharpens Another.

Our Philantrophy

The P.A.T.H.E. Initiative (Providing Access To Higher Education) aims to support middle school and high school students in their quest to graduate from a four-year college and beyond. The program supports local schools and organizations by mentoring future scholars, facilitating college and providing university tours. It also provides P.A.T.H.E. initiative workshops and advocates for the improvement of the educational system. Through the P.A.T.H.E. initiative, Lambda Upsilon Lambda provides future scholars with the social, educational, and emotional support needed to reach these goals.
